Welcome to our free Dino Riders toy guide! Dino Riders was a cartoon that first aired in 1988. Like most cartoons in this era it was made to promote the Dino Riders toyline made by Tyco! The show was based around a war being fought between the Valorian’s and the Rulons. During a battle the Valorians attempted to escape and were transported back to prehistoric times. Unfortunately the Rulons followed them and both sides used dinosaurs in their continuing battles.

There were four series in the toyline and the fourth is known as Ice Age. The toys were made between 1988 and 1990. Series 3 was released in the same year as the Ice Age toys but I have given Ice Age its own section. They were fantastic toys and it was a really great idea! What kid would like armoured dinosaurs! However the toys were made of quite brittle plastic and fragile mechanisms which could break easily. This makes them quite hard to find and complete.
