SWITCHBLADE

The M.A.S.K. Switchblade vehicle was released in 1985 as part of series 1. It came with Miles Mayhem who was the leader of VENOM. The vehicle transformed from helicopter to a lethal pursuit aeroplane with wing mounted energy launchers.

A button could be pressed and the roto blades would spin around. Another switch dropped a missile/ bo,b from underneath.

Switchblade came with a cockpit, two rotorblades and a missile. There were two silver engine covers that came off quite easily too. The canopy has very fragile hinges that are often damaged. The missile is often missing.

Switchblade came with the leader of VENOM, Miles Mayhem.

THE MECHANISM

The vehicle changed from helicopter to aeroplane. The rear upper-middle tail fin was raised and the helicopter blades were held in place by it. As the tail fin was placed down the aeroplane wings popped out. The front silver guns alsod popped out. The helicopter leg struts were then moved up manually and a switch was pressed to show the guns on them.

Often this toy is found damaged and will not go into helicopter mode as the wings will not hold in place. The small plastic connector that holds the wings back is very fragile and is damaged easily.
