SHADOW spy

The Shadow Spy was released in 1988 as part of series three. The vehicle is quite rare and can be hard to find complete and working. Often the vehicle will not stay in undercover mode. The vehicle is designed to look like a Starcom vehicle but can instantly deploy to a lethal Starmada attack vehicle. It has two lasers and two jolt cannons and a decimator cannon.

UNDERCOVER MODE

ATTACK MODE

In attack mode, the Shadow Spy’s cockpit pop out and the wings open. The side guns, front guns and rear gun have to be put in position manually.

POWER DEPLOY

The power deploy button is found at the rear of the vehicle on the top. When pressed the cockpit pops out and the wings drop down. The side guns have to be turned around manually and front guns are pulled out. The rear gun also manually folds out.

PARTS

The Shadow Spy has two small blue side guns, a rear gunner gun and a cockpit canopy. These parts are often missing.

INCLUDED FIGURE

The Shadow Spy came with a random Shadow Force figure. A specific figure was not assigned to the vehicle. In the later series carded figures were added to the vehicles instead of them having specific pilots/ drivers.

PACKAGING

The Shadow Spy was boxed with a random Shadow Force figure. There was a U.S. version of the Coleco box and also a European Coleco version with the U.S. aspects taken off. The initial boxes were branded by Coleco but they later had Mattel on them.
