ALL TOYS

welcome!

Thank you for visiting my website! This section is all about Thundercats toys made between 1985 and 1987.

As a child, the Thundercats cartoon was one of my favourites. The Thundercats escaped their home planet Thundera and crash landed on Third Earth. They were followed by the evil mutants. The mutants teamed up with the evil Mummra to try and defeat the Thundercats and take the sword of omens from them.

This guide is under construction and currently just has pictures of all figures, playsets and vehicles. Click the above buttons to check out the toys.

Navigating the THUNDERCATS toy guides

Above, you can see a number of different boxes. You can visit each year that Thundercats toys were produced by clicking on the boxes that run from 1985-1987. Alternatively you can click on guides for all of the figures and vehicles.

I will be looking to add individual guides for each toy but for now I hope that you enjoy my toy guide and that it helps you with your collecting.

A BRIEF THUNDERCATS HISTORY

The makers of the Thundercats toys were an American based company called  LJN. Jack friedman founded LJN in 1970 using funds from his employer Norman J Lewis Associates. He used the reversed initials of his employer for the company name.

The Thundercats characters were created by Tobin “Ted” Wolf. The characters featured in a animated television series which ran four seasons from 1985 to 1989. It was animated by the Japanese studio Pacific Animation Corporation and co-produced by Rankin-Bass Animated Entertainment. This meant that animation was done in Japan and it was written and voice acted in America. Like He-Man, the Thundercats launched as a line of action figures alongside the after-school weekday cartoon. In 1987 the cartoon movie was released called Thundercats Ho! The Movie

There were three series of Thundercats toys released between 1985 and 1987.
