COL. JOHN GRIFFIN (starbase command)

COL. John Griffin. “Slim” leads Starbase Command, Starcom’s fleet of space battle stations. He’s all muscle and his courage in battle has earned him the respect of Starcom commander Admiral Franklin Brickley-and the men “Slim” leads to victory.

COL. John Griffin has a Starbase Command symbol on his left breast. His face has a moustache. He has his rank motif on his left and right arms. He has the Starbase Command symbol on his helmet to show he is the leader of that battle group.

The Starcom figures have two pins either side of their helmets. A visor attaches to to the pins and can be placed up or down. There are two holes on the back so that a backpack can be fixed to it. The boots have two magnets so figures can connect to magnetic surfaces. The arms can only move in one direction but the legs have joints at the knee

ACCESSORIES

COL. John Griffin came with a backpack, gun, hose and visor. The hose connected the backpack to the gun. The visors were fragile and they broke very easily. As the parts were very small, alot have been lost over the years.

COL. John Griffin originally came on a Coleco cardback. These cards had a filecard with information about the figure on it. He was then released on a Mattel cardback which does not have the filecard information. He was also released on a double card with CAPT. Gorn.

He also came with the Shadow Force Action set along with CAP. Hydrone, CPL. Cronax, General Von Dar, Emperor Dark, and PFC. Shaw Reed. The Starcom figures were described as being prisoners of Shadow Force!

In the later series there were no specific figures that came with vehicles. Random cardback figures were added to the vehicles.
