ACTION FORCE 1985 (THIRD SERIES)

COBRA OFFICER

Cobra Officer

Infantry, Artillery, Intelligence.

Born: Worldwide.

Cobra Officers are front-line fighters leading the Cobra attack. All are masters of disguise, deceit ad demolition. They are all dedicated to the destruction of Action Force. Beware…they are dangerous enemies.

The Cobra Officer came with a machine gun and backpack. They have a lovely silver Cobra emblem on their chest, but this often gets worn away. They look similar to Cobra troopers but there are a number of differences. The officers have a different face and body mould.

The Cobra Officer mould was also used for the Driver.

PACKAGING

The Cobra Officer came as a carded figure. ometimes the Cobra Officer was not supplied with a backpack/ attache case. Below is an example of a carded figure with only one bubble and no backpack/ attache case. The missing part was sometimes missing with the standard bubble too.

You can see an example below where a Cobra was packaged in an Officer cardback.

The figure cards continued to have the mail order offer. You collected five medals and could then send off for a free mail order figure. The mail order figure with this series was the Infantryman.

LOOKS FAMILIAR

The Cobra officer was repainted to create the Cobra Driver. The second series SAS Hunter was also a repaint of the Cobra Officer.

The Cobra Officer looks quite similar to the Cobra and I used to get a bit mixed up with some of their parts! There are a number of differences between them. The Cobra eyes look like they have raised eyebrows and the Officer eyebrows looks more stern. Below is a picture showing the differences.

The Cobra officer’s backpack/ attache case also came with Destro

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the characters and had some great artwork.
