Assault System Pod

The A.S.P. (Assault System Pod) is Cobra’s lethal anti-aircraft gun. Features include:

Dual synchronised elevating cannons
Cockpit rotates through 360 degrees and tilts through 90 degrees
Opening protective roll-cage
Folding, independent wheels
Four retractable stabiliser pods
Tow leg attachment

The Cobra Assault System Pod (A.S.P.) is Cobra’s anti-aircraft gun. It can have have one figure placed inside its cockpit under a roll cage. The cockpit rotates through 360 degrees and tilts through 90 degrees.

It had two wheels that could be folded in and four leg stands that could be folded out.

The A.S.P. could be towed by such vehicles as Hyena tanks when it’s wheels were put down.

The A.S.P. has two guns which can be moved up and down. The gun barrels have two armoured plates that are often lost.

The A.S.P. came with two armour plates that are often lost or broken. The guns were clipped into place. The roll cage clipped into place and could be opened and closed.

PACKAGING

The A.S.P. came in a box with no figures.

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

In 1984 the Cobra A.S.P. was released as part of the G.I. Joe toy line. It had different stickers and a different box to the Action Force version.

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the vehicles and characters and had some great artwork.
