SERIES 1 (1986)

SHADOW UPRISER

The Shadow Upriser was released as part of series four. This fearsome tank of the Shadow Force Invasion ground army deploys to become a mobile landing pad for small air vehicle. Its formidable nine gun arsenal provides a devastating array of weaponry to cover any Shadow Force air vehicle landing on its elevated pad. This awesome vehicle was part of the 1989 fourth series and was only released in Europe.

Features outlined on the box include:

  • Motorised Power Deploy raises Landing Pad to battle mode
  • Rear Personnel Carrier Magna Lock activated
  • Tank Treads slide out to reveal artillery
  • Tri-barrelled Proton Phasers extend
  • Magna Lock Magnetic Action Figures and Vehicles lock onto metal panels
The cockpit could house two figures and when the tracks were pulled out there were two more seats for a figure to sit behind each of the tri-barrelled photon phasers.

The Shadow Upriser is  is often described as their “holy grail” by many Starcom collectors. It is definitely up there with a boxed Star Fleet or Shadow Force Action set!

STANDBY MODE

The Upriser has a power deploy mechanism to put it into battle mode. The power deploy button is found at the rear. There are two buttons and the one on the left is pushed to the right to make the vehicles landing pad rise. As the landing pad rises, the elevator also moves from a horizontal position under the vehicle to a vertical position at the rear. The elevator can then be used with magna lock figures to transport them up (the magnets make the elevator work).

The sides of the landing platform are raised manually and the large guns underneath fold out and lock into position. The tracks are pulled out and reveal two guns at the front and two guns at the back. Two more figures can be placed in seat by the front guns that come out from behind the treads.

BATTLE MODE

POWER DEPLOY

After the Power deploy button was pressed, the Upriser landing pad rises. The the rear lift also rises from a horizontal position to a vertical position when a figure is stood on it. The deploy botton is on the left side. The lift can then also be used to raise figures up and down.

The Power deploy button is shown on the left in this picture.

The middle button releases a magna lock for any vehicle being carried underneath.
