STARBASE STATION

The Starbase Station is part of Starbase Command, Starcoms fleet of Space Battle Stations. The playset came with SGT. MAJ. Bull Gruff.

This is a deep-space battle station used as a forward outpost for Starcom combat missions throughout the galaxy. Prime target for enemy attack; Equipped with bio-logic computers and tracking systems; Powerful arsenal of defensive weapons.

DEFENCE MODE

Converts to 3-level defense tower, heavily armed to repel enemy attacks. Battlecrane, F-1400 Starwolf and Shadow Parasite use Magna Lock lifters to lock on to metal panel on defense level 3.

CARGO DEPLOY MODE

As cargo platform, allows docking, loading, unloading, fueling, repairing and refitting of Starcom vehicles for combat. Power Deploy Cargo Mover transports cargo pod (UCM- Universal Cargo module) or Starcom vehicles that compact to UCM size for transport: Laser R.A.T., F-1400 Starwolf, M-6 Railgunner, Battlecrane, Shadow Invader. Off-platform docking for Starmax Bomber, Shadowbat.

POWER DEPLOY

The power deploy feature on the Starbase Station was the Magna Lock elevator in Defence mode. This was activated when a figures magnetic boots were put in place. This also became a cargo mover in cargo-deploy mode.

There was also a motorized URP assault cannon which activated when a figure was put in place (the figures magnetic boots activated it).

ACCESSORIES

The Starbase Station came with two yellow cannon tips that came off quite easily.

PACKAGING

The Starbase Station playset came with SGT. MAJ. Bull Gruff. There was a U.S. version of the box and also a European version with the U.S. aspects taken off. The initial boxes were branded by Coleco but they later had Mattel on them.
