UNPRODUCED TOYS

There were a number of toys that were unfortunately never produced but were advertised on other toy cardbacks and leaflets. There were three unproduced vehicles and four unproduced figures that are shown below. If you are aware of any others then please get in touch and we will add them to the guide.

The pictures below show that prototypes were made of these potential toys. Some of the toys look fantastic and it was a shame that they were not made as part of this fantastic toyline!

CANNON-BLASTER

The Cannon-Blaster figure can be seen pictured on product leaflets that came with figures and vehicles. It shows that the figure was intended to be part of the Berserkers.

The 1987 LJN product catalogue gave more information about this figure.

FELINER

The Feliner vehicle can be seen pictured on product leaflets that came with figures and vehicles. It shows two figures seated and the front and another seated at the rear. It is described as having “snapping” jaws. It looks like that if it had been made, it would have been the largest Thundercats vehicle.

The 1987 LJN product catalogue gives more information and pictures about the toy. It reads:

The Thundercats Feliner vehicle has many exciting features for action-packed fun. Its retractable landing gear with rolling wheels enables toy to roll on floor while in landing mode. The head of the Feliner is mechanised to move back and forth, up and down. The cat-like jaws open and shut enabling the mouth to pick up objects. A thundering roaring noise sounds with head movement.s

LUNA-TACKER

The Luna-Tacker vehicle can be seen pictured on product leaflets that came with figures and vehicles. It shows one figure seated on the vehicle and is stated to have a disc-firing action.

The 1987 LJN product catalogue give more information and pictures about the toy. It reads:

The powerful legs of this vehicleclaw at the ground makiing a cracking noise as it moves along. The hidden lever controls the head as it whips up and down spitting “fire ball” projectiles one after the other, 6 projectiles included.

RED EYE

The Red Eye figure was shown in the 1987 LJN product catalogue. The catalogue states that the figure shoots flying discs from his chest.

MAD BUBBLER

The Mad Bubbler can be seen pictured on the back of the Rampager cardbacks and in product leaflets.. Unfortunately it was never produced.

QUICK-JAWS

The Quick-Jaws figure can be seen pictured on product leaflets that came with figures and vehicles. It shows that the figure was intended to be part of the Berserkers.

The 1987 LJN product catalogue gave more information about this figure.

THUNDERSTRIKE

The Thunderstrike vehicle can be seen pictured on the back of Laser Saber cardbacks. Unfortunately it was never produced. It appears to have been able to house three figures. One in the central main vehicle and two in side pods. There is an opening on the front that could possibly be for storage?
