ACTION FORCE 1985 (THIRD SERIES)

COVERT LIGHT AERIAL WEAPON (C.L.A.W.)

Covert Light Aerial Weapon (C.L.A.W.)

Cobra’s Covert Light Aerial Weapon is a one-man armed battle wing capable of silent surprise attacks. This manoeuvrable machine features the following:

  • Extendable wingtips
  • Retractable landing gear
  • Removable electronics access panels
  • Detachable ‘Venom’ missiles
  • ‘Flash fire’ bomb
  • Machine-gun
  • Movable ailerons

The Covert Light Aerial Weapon (C.L.A.W.) was a glider-style vehicle that could have one figure fitted onto it via is back pack hole (the vehicle had a peg that the figure fitted onto). Instead of a figure a bomb could also be placed onto the vehicle making it similar to a pilotless drone. A figures hands could grip onto the front wheel part making it look like he or she was flying the vehicle.

It came with a bomb and two missiles. The wings could extend out and in and other fins could could be moved.

The wheels on the wings could be moved up and down. The wheels clipped into positions and often the clips holding them in place are damaged.

The C.L.A.W. came in its own box, but was also included in the Action Pack

PACKAGING

The C.L.A.W. came boxed. It was released in its own one box with no figures. It was also released with three figures in the Action Pack

The Action Pack also included the C.L.A.W. as well as the three figures CobraDuke and Ripcord. The Action Pack box is rare and hard to find.

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

In 1984 the C.L.A.W. was released as part of the G.I. Joe toy line. It had different stickers and a different box to the Action Force version.

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the vehicles and characters and had some great artwork.

The C.L.A.W. datafile was made with a 3D effect hence why it looks fuzzy!
