The SAS figure came with a Heckler and Kosh machine gun and a brown grapple hook. The grapple hook had a hole at the base so that string could be threaded through it. You could then abseil the SAS figure down walls!

The  SAS figure was based on the original Action Man SAS uniform. He was released as part of the first twelve figures in the early summer of 1982.

Body Mould

The SAS figure had a moulded gas mask and hood covering his head. His body is covered in a bullet proof vest. He has a gun holster on his left side at the top of his leg. He has a torch/flashlight on his right side. He has ammo clips on the small of his back.

PACKAGING

The SAS figure came as a carded figure. 

File Card

On the back of the card back you could see pictures of other figures and vehicles available in the Action Force line. There was also a mail order offer for the Commander figure. Each figure had a form on the back of the card and one medal with a number in it. Five medals could be attached to the form and sent off to get a Commander figure. The SAS medal number was 6.

VARIANTS

The SAS  version one had a face mask with a nodule on the end. The second version had a less defined face mask with no nodule.

LOOKS FAMILIAR

The Heckler and Kosh machine gun also came with the First Series Night Patrol figure. It also came with the Second Series Z Force Infantryman, SAS Squad Leader, SAS Battle Gear and a variant of the Enemy Battle Gear.

The brown grapple hook also came with the first series Naval Assault figure and the U.S. Paratrooper.
