GERMAN ACTION FORCE

ACTION FORCE 1983-1984 (second SERIES)

Z FORCE MINESWEEPER (SCOUT)

Codename: Scout

Personal Name: Wolfgang Dremmler

Action Force Number: 39654

Primary Military Speciality: Mine Warfare

Secondary Military Speciality: Bomb Disposal

Birthplace: Leipzig, East Germany

Formerly a member of the Soviet Tank Command, with plenty of experience fighting in mid-African states. His water divining ability helped to keep him alive during many a desert campaign. Has a sixth sense of danger, and an almost psychic relationship with Steeler. This has saved Z Force on many occasions.

“Scout always says you don’t have to see it to know it’s there”

The Z Force Minesweeper Scout came with a mine detector and back pack with three mines. It is good that they have connected him with Steeler in his Datafile as he would be walking in front of Steeler’s Battle Tank ensuring it did not get blown up!

The mines that came with Scout were very small and many have been lost over the years. They can be very hard to find. If you only collect original items then be careful as there are quite a lot of reproduction mines out there being sold as vintage. I was conned once when I bought a figure and found it to have fake mines!

Body Mould

The Z Force Minesweeper “Scout” has a moulded helmet with chin strap. He has ammo belts across his chest and back but obviously does not have a gun! He also has some grenades on his left chest attached to an ammo belt. He has a side pouch on both hips and a water bottle and knife on his back.

ACCESSORIES

The Z Force Minesweeper came with a mine detector, back pack and three mines. The back pack could be placed over the figures head and two straps held it in place. The mines could be stored in the back pack. The pack pack had a circular compartment to put the mines in. A strap would hold the mines in place.

The mines came attached to a piece of plastic (a sprue). When you look at the pictures below you will see original mines have a small bit of plastic that sticks out on the side. This is from where they were connected to the plastic sprue. This helps to identify original mines as reproduction ones often have smooth sides. The bottom of original mines are also smooth. Some reproduction ones are not smooth on the underside like the originals. Be careful as there have been cases if sellers passing off reproductions as original!
