TORNADO GUNSHIP

The Tornado Gunship was released as part of series three. It is an Air/Space Transcopter that comes under the Starwing battle group. 

The Tornado Gunship has turbines that pivot up, a motorised tail rotor, side body panels thatd escend to discharge troops, metal panels to hold Starcom figures, a cannon turret that extends and rotates, a motorised power deplot cockpit, twin URP lasers and landing gears.

The technical profile states that the vehicles crew capacity consists of a Star Wing Pilot, Gunner and four combat troops. Its mission profile is a short-haul troop transport and perimeter patrol. The gunship has twin megalaser cannons-high energy laser weapons, 2 twin URP laser cannons-ultra rapid pulse laser weapons. The tactical speciality is stated as being ferrying troops from one front to another and performing covert rescue missions behind enemy lines.

POWER DEPLOY

The Tornado Gunship has a power deploy mechanism to put it in battle mode. The power deploy button is found at the rear of the vehicle close to the cockpit. When one button is pressed the cockpit deploys and the tail rotor also come out into place.

PARTS

The Tornado Gunship has a tail rotor that can come off quite easily as well as two turbine parts that can also come off quite easily. There is also a cockpit, two side panels and the large cannon.

INCLUDED FIGURE

The Mattel version of this vehicle included a random figure. The Coleco version did not have an included figure.

The Mattel version of the Tornado Gunship came with a random Starcom figure. A specific figure was not assigned to the vehicle. In the later series carded figures were added to the vehicles instead of them having specific pilots/ drivers.

PACKAGING

The Tornado Gunship was supplied in a box with cardboard inserts and plastic bags for parts and stickers. It came in a Coleco branded box as well as a Mattel branded box.
