WOLVERINE VERSION 1
Wolverine
A high-speed tracked vehicle, the Wolverine is driven by “Hunter.” It’s armed with a rotating and elevating missile-launch turret.
The SAS Wolverine vehicle had missile launchers that rotated and could be moved up and down. It contained twelve missiles. The vehicle came with a tow rope that was notorious for breaking due to its thin and fragile nature. These tow ropes are very hard to find! It also had an engine cover.
There was a tow hook at the back of the vehicle and other vehicles such as the Whirlwind could be pulled along.
There was a small grey part that attached to the top and locked the rotating part with the missiles in place. This part is often missing.
It came with the figure Hunter who was a repaint of the G.I. Joe figure Cobra Officer/ Cobra Driver.
The Wolverine was in a television commercial battling Kraken and the Hyena tank. You can watch this here.

The Wolverine had a removable engine cover, a grey tow rope (that was notorious for breaking) and twelve missiles. There was also a small grey piece that held the missile launcher part in place and this is often missing.

PACKAGING
The Wolverine came boxed with the figure Hunter (a repaint of the Cobra Officer/ Cobra Driver).
VARIANTS
The Wolverine (version 1) was originally released as part of the series two Action Force SAS team. The SAS version came in a black colour with the Hunter figure (a repaint of the Cobra Officer figure). The Wolverine version 2 was released in 1985 with the Ton-Up figure. The 1985 version came in a different box and with different stickers.
The Wolverine was a repaint of the G.I. Joe Wolverine.
G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE
The Wolverine was released as part of the G.I. Joe line in 1983. It had the same same name but it came in a different box and was a different colour to the Action Force versions. It also came with a different figure called Covergirl.
Hunter was a repaint of the Cobra Officer G.I. Joe figure. Despite being released in the U.K. in 1985, the Cobra Officer was first released in the U.S. in 1982.
DATAFILE
Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force and Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the vehicles and characters and had some great artwork.
