“Skip is a winner all the way, and does not accept second best from any of his men.”

The Z Force Captain Grant “Skip” Campbell was the leader of Z Force. With a background that reads similar to Bruce Wayne and some great accessories he was a pretty good figure.

He originally came with a black version of the KAR-98 (Mauser) rifle (a blue version came with the First Series German Stormtrooper). However he later came with an SLR (self loading rifle).  He also came with a grapple hook and rope so he could scale or abseil buildings.

The Z Force Captain appeared in this television commercial.

Body Mould

The Z Force Captain Skip has a moulded red beret on his head. His uniform is all a nice black and green camouflage. He has pockets on his breast, side pockets on his hips and two more pouches and a sleeping bag pouch on his lower back. He has some webbing that goes down his chest, over his shoulders and down his back. He had the Z Force logo on his shoulder.

He is sometimes supplied with a difefrent left arm and this is shwon below in the variants section.

ACCESSORIES

The Z Force Captain originally came with a black mauser rifle (the same type that came with the First Series German Stormtrooper), a grapple hook and rope. Laster releases had the SLR (self loading rifle) instead of the previous rifle.

PACKAGING

The Z Force Captain figure came as a carded figure. You can see that the lower card has the mauser rifle instead of the SLR.

File Card

Information about the figure could be found on the back of the figures file card (the Datafile information). Each figure also had an individual medal number for the mail order offer. The Z Force Captain number was 30.

VARIANTS

The first version has two camouflage spots on his crotch area. The second version has three small camouflage spots, large shoulder logo and flat hands.

The Z Force Captain is also supplied with a different left arm sometimes. You can see the difference below.

LOOKS FAMILIAR

The Z Force Captain was a repaint of the First Series 2 Para and the British Marine. In 1983 the German figure Kapitan was released and he was the German version of the Z Force Captain.

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the characters and had some great artwork.
