INFANTRYMAN

Infantryman

The backbone of Action Force. Experienced infantry from all over the world. Highly trained soldiers ideal or large-scale military operations demanded by Action Force. All members graduate Advanced Infantry Training. 

The Infantryman was only available as a mail order figure. He was the only mail order figure of the third series. He came with a helmet, machine gun and backpack. To get the Infantryman you collected 5 medals from figure cardbacks and sent them off with some money to cover postage.

Body Mould

The Infantryman has webbing over his chest and back. On his right side he has a grenade and on the left a knife in sheath. Above grenade and knife there is a pocket on each side. He has a pocket on each bicep. He has pockets on the outside of either leg. 

 

ACCESSORIES

The Infantryman came with a machine gun, helmet and backpack. The same helmet also came with Breaker and Flash.

The Infantryman was only available as a mail order figure. He was the fourth mail order figure from Palitoy.

The mail order offer reads:

Fill in the details and send us the complete card, with a postal order for 35p to cover postage and packing and we will send you one of the Action Force Infantry Troopers-free!

Action Force Infantryman are highly trained soldiers from all over the world. Infantry squads are very effective against their evil Cobra counterparts.

LOOKS FAMILIAR

The Infantryman has the same head mould as Dolphin but they have a different hair colour. This is something to look out for if you buy a Dolphin figure as they can be very expensive.

The Infantryman helmet also came with Breaker and Flash.

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

Despite being released in the U.K. in 1985, the Infantryman was first released in the U.S. in 1982 as “Grunt.” The Grunt came on a cardback and was not mail away figure. 

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the characters and had some great artwork.
