Born: Swansea, Wales.
Tripwire worries many of his Action Force colleagues. He is always clumsy, jittery and dropping things-except when he is working with high explosives! Only explosives can calm him down!
Tripwire is a bomb disposal expert and came with a mine detector, backpack and three mines. The three mines could be stored in the backpack and they could be stacked on top of each other. The mine detector had a wire that connected to the backpack.
Tripwire’s figure mould was repainted to create the Action Force series two figure Blades.

Body Mould
Trip Wire has a moulded head and goggles. He has body armour covering his front chest and abdomen. He appears to have a plate covering his crotch too! On his rear he has one back pocket. He has a gun in a holster on his right leg.

Tripwire came with a mine detector, backpack and three mines.

PACKAGING
Tripwire came as a carded figure. The figure cards continued to have the mail order offer. You collected five medals and could then send off for a free mail order figure. The mail order figure with this series was the Infantryman.
VARIANTS
The second series SAS Blades figure was a repaint of the G.I. Joe Tripwire figure.
G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE
Despite being released in the U.K. in 1985, Tripwire was first released in the U.S. in 1983.
DATAFILE
Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the characters and had some great artwork.
