Z FORCE COMMANDER
The Z Force Commander was available as an exclusive mail order figure.
To get the Commander you had to collect five medals from the figure card backs and stick them to a form. The form was sent off to Palitoy with some money to cover postage and then a free Commander figure was sent to you.
The Commander came with a small blue revolver gun and they can be hard to find (this accessory is very small). The Commander would come in a small box from the Palitoy company.
The medals had numbers on them which corresponded to each individual figure.
The Z Force Commander (or Commander version 2) came as an exclusive mail order figure. He came with a very small black revolver weapon which is often missing. He was a repaint of the First Series Commander figure. Unlike the first series Commander, the band around his hat has been painted black.

Body Mould
The Z Force Commander has a moulded peaked cap with badge. He has a straight belt with a gun holster on his left hip.

The Z Force Commander came with a black revolver.

PACKAGING
The Z Force Commander figure came exclusively by mail order. On the back of the figure card backs you can see pictures of other figures and vehicles available in the Action Force line.
There was also a mail order offer for the Commander figure. Each figure had a form on the back of the card and one medal with a number in it. Five medals could be attached to the form and sent off to get a Commander figure. The Commander would arrive in a box similar to the one below.
The pictures below show how the mail order offer worked.
File Card
Information about the figure could be found on the back of the figures file card (the Datafile information). Each figure also had an individual medal number for the mail order offer. The Z Force Commander had no medal number or file card.
VARIANTS
The first version has a plain jacket front. The second version has zips and pockets on the jacket front.

The Z Force Commander was a repaint of the First Series Commander and the Second Series Black Major. Below you can see the differences. The first and second series Commander figures had caps that were painted differently. The first series Commander came with a blue revolver and the second series Commander came with a black revolver.

The black revolver also came with the SAS Pilot.
DATAFILE
Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the characters and had some great artwork. The Z Force Commander did not have a Datafile.
