ACTION FORCE 1983-1984 (SECOND SERIES)

COMMAND CENTRE

Command Centre

The Command Centre control console includes a very advanced communication surveillance system. Main protection comes from the double devastation cannon, firing 100mm armour-piercing shells or high explosive shells. Gaucho usually operates this weapon. Centre is also armed with a single 50mm rapid-fire cannon and two 20mm machine guns. There are facilities for servicing all Z Force and SAS vehicles, with a powerful ramp. Also a jail, and helipad. Video cameras allow Jammer to keep a close eye on Enemy activity. The Cantre holds large stocks of fuel, ammunition and weapons.

The Action Force Command Centre was the largest playset available in the series. It came with the rare figures Gaucho and Jammer. It had a lot of different features that made it a fantastic toy!

The Command Centre has a vehicle servicing ramp, position for the Battle Tank, jail, communications centre, forward gun, helicopter pad and weapons storage. It came with a number of small red parts including two cameras, two search lights, two guns, a flag, a radar dish and an aerial. These red parts can be hard to find and are often broken.

The second series Z Force Command Centre was also available during the third series. It came with the same box and most of the same parts. The second series version has a more defined camouflage design on the walls. The third series has a less defined and blurred camouflage design.

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

In 1983 the Headquarters, Command Centre was released as part of the G.I. Joe toy line. It was a different colour, had different stickers and had a different box to the Action Force version. Amazingly (for a toy this size), it did not come with any figures! It was also released in 1984 and 1985.

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the vehicles and characters and had some great artwork.
