SEALION

Sealion

Action Force two-seater submarine with independent, detachable sub-sea vehicles attached to the sides. Equipped with two sets of claws at the front, for destroying and retrieving objects. Other features include directional indicator in cockpit, opening canopy and rear storage bay, elevating cockpit surveillance camera. Armed with frontal powerful cannons and rear machine-gun.

 

The Sealion is another great vehicle which came with the Dolphin version 1 figure. Two figures can be placed inside the cockpits of the vehicle. There are also two small pods (some call them Sea Pups) that figures can be placed into.

The vehicle came with lots of accessories including a gun, camera, spotlight and two missiles. Two breathing masks are also included. 

A lever can be pulled and pincers at the front open and close. There are also two small blue hooks on the underside that are attached to string. They can be wound in and out.

The Sealion is one of the vehicles with the most accessories. Despite being bright blue in colour, these accessories can be very hard to find. Accessories include a gun, camera, spotlight, two missiles, two breathing masks, the pilot canopy, a rear cover and small grey part that ftted at the back. There are also two hooks atatched to string that fit on the underside.

PACKAGING

The Sealion version 1  vehicle came boxed with a Dolphin (version 1) figure. The vehicle was also available in 1985 with a different version of the figure (see below). 

 

VARIANTS

The Sealion vehicle was originally released in the Action Force second series as a Q Force vehicle. Due to surplus it continued to be sold as part of the Action Force vehicles. The original Dolphin figure was replaced with a Dolphin version 2 figure (a repaint of the G.I. Joe figure Zap).

The Action Force version was packaged in a different box and had different stickers.

G.I. JOE U.S. RELEASE

The Sealion vehicle was not released in the United States.

DATAFILE

Datafiles could be found in the Battle Action Force and Action Force comics. They contained lots of information about the vehicles and characters and had some great artwork.
